APA (NSW) Member Update
Thursday 29 March 2018
Last week, APA (NSW) Executive met with the Minister for Health.
The Minister stood firm in his stance that paramedics would not be granted exemption from having to pay for and provide to their employer a WWCC.
As previously advised, the deadline for obtaining a WWCC was moved to 30 June 2018 thanks to the steely resolve and actions of APA (NSW) members.
Have no doubt that this move by the NSW Government is simply a ‘stay of execution’. Nothing has changed. Therefore, the direction to members to continue to withhold WWCC details remains until further notice.
Ongoing and continued industrial action stays on the table for APA (NSW) and its members, nothing is off the table.
The power is yours. This is only the first skirmish in what will inevitably be a long battle in maintaining and improving our working conditions and attaining wages reflective of our imminent professional registration. It will be a test of our mettle. All members must fight.
Stand firm and hold the line!
